Reflection
When reflecting on my current practice I feel it matches what I have read quite closely. I encourage lots of talking about thinking and model the think aloud strategy quite often. Something I don't do very well is documenting this process in a visible way for others to see. Once the discussion is over it's gone. I would like to encourage my students to reflect both verbally and in a written form to record on SeeSaw. Due to the age of the children sometimes writing is a barrier. I think step one of this process is to continue to encourage lots of verbal evaluation and discussion about all sorts of things. Hopefully once these skills have been developed the children will be able to transfer these into critically reflecting on their own learning rather than a philosophical concept.
