Episode 1 - Buying Mules
The mercenary group known as The Red Talon were approached by Lord Ivan Tsarevitc and Laeryn Willowmet to make arrangements for the transportation of a large item from the Morevna Estate in Malleah (Lord Tsarevitc's dwelling) to the Fortress of Sun in Icararus.
The price was agreed and the group set out to find a means of transportation. Enroute they encountered General Kilrea of the Order of the Six who presented veiled threats to the group and Laeryn.
The group were able to procure a reinforced cart and 6 mules; Flash, Rose, Malachite, Blossom, Oak, and Thunder. Percys Ring was used as deposit until the group had received their first payment.
Percy sent one of his household staff, Damian Peeps, ahead of them to Stonefort to prepare some materials for them as part of a later plan to disguise the cask.
Episode 2 - Shades Attack
As previously arranged the group made their way to the Morevna Estate in the middle of the night to receive the mysterious object from Lord Tsarevitc. They were presented with a large black stone cask stood upright, covered in runes and a combination lock at the front. Lord Tsarevitc seemed tired and eager for them to depart with the cask.
Meanwhile, Saturday headed back to the market to retrieve Percys ring and pay the remaining fee for the cart and mules.
Once the group had set the Cask on the cart they were approached by hooded figures that would later be revealed to be members of the Weavers Guild. Before they could strike the group, strange shadowy monsters cleaved them asunder and began attacking the group. Though they hit hard, they were easily dealt with and the group quickly gathered themselves and made to quickly leave when the city bells began to alarm; a weaver in his dying moments was able to send up a signal alerting the city to trouble.
Episode 3 - Escaping Maleah
The group began their perilous escape through Maleah, pursued by mounted Weaver Soldiers. They made the decision to head to the North Gate feeling that the Weavers would expect them to head to the closer West Gate or the direct path on their journey, the South Gate.
Meanwhile, Saturday in the market heard the city bells and saw soldiers quickly mustering around the city. A curfew was in as the city was under attack(?). Saturday made his way West thinking to meet up with the group there and came across a yellow Dragonborn in fine clothes' having a conversation with an unseen companion, the voice however was that of General Kilrea. The weavers were heading to the West Gate to catch the group there. Before Saturday could hear anymore he was spotted by the dragonborn who was able to quickly incapacitate Saturday and introduced himself as Lucius Venic-Ishi, Second Degree Magus, Scribe for the Platinum Circle. Saturday was taken within his own mind and dueled Lucius in his mindscape, eventually blacking out in the face of Lucius' power.
The group made it to the North Gate, which was somehow still open. It had began to rain and as they sped towards the gate they could see a lone General Kilrea galloping towards the gate shouting orders for it to be shut, a burst of lightning accentuating his presence. Despite Kilreas efforts, the group made it through the gate as the port cullis slammed shut behind them.
Episode 4 - Regrouping in Trillick
The group began to make their way North to get as much distance from the city as possible. A small fishing village, Trillick, was on the north coast and would act as a good lace to regroup and plan their next steps. In the now quiet night, Percy, Qolt and Squirt could all hear unintelligent whispers coming from the cask, the others however could not.
As the morning arrives, they come across Saturday awakening under a tree beside the road, Percys ring in his hand. He explains what had happened but does not know how he had made it to the tree. Immediately Anearion spotted a scrying spell above Saturday and attacked it to dissuade it from observing them.
They arrived in Trillick and found a tavern to rest up in. Inside was a group of bandits (The Rogues) enjoying the spoils of their latest heist. Some brief discussions occurred about acquiring their help but the bandit leader, Lilibet, was sleeping and they could discuss with her later.
Episode 5 - Rogues and Shades
Negotiations began with the Rogues leaders Lilibet to acquire some assistance travelling south. The price was hefty but an arrangement was agreed.
During this time the scrying spell continued to appear but the group had nothing they could do about it except to be aware of what they were speaking of when it was around. Anearion also spotted a unique amulet hanging from Lilibets neck.
That night more shadow monsters, Shades, appeared and attacked the group.
Episode 6 - Big Shade and Weavers Attack
The fight against the shades continued with the Rogues joining in. Lilibet stormed into combat, dual blades swirling demanding answers from the group, or the deal was off!
3 Shades appeared to combine into one larger Shade and presented an equally large challenge before being felled.
The group are able to convince Lilibet to still help them, but not all of the Rogues are happy, with two members storming off (Wyndham and Abel).
Before dawn breaks it starts to rain, lightning strikes and alerts the group to the arrival of General Kilrea and a sizeable force of Weavers (with Wyndham & Abel directing them towards the group). Kilrea projects his voice so all in the village can hear it; "I know you are there and have what I want, give it over peacefully and die a quick death. Resist, and you will suffer without the escape of death."
The group quickly establishes a defensive position and the Rogues help them in fighting off waves of Weavers. Squirt and Saturday provide ranged cover while Qolt and Percy dash around the town square felling any Weavers that come too close. Anearion casts an area of spiky thorns on one of the choke points to prevent the Weavers from entering, whilst Yolarith summons an elephant into the fray.
As the fight continues, Lilibet come sup with a plan. Firstly, spotting the scrying spell above Saturday she gives him her amulet, an Amulet of Proof against Detection, to protect him from surveillance. Then she directs the group to a small path up to the lighthouse on the eastern cliff, while the Rogues set up a clever diversion using a fishing boat to make it look like they all escaped by sea.
