Using
Due to its ergonomic shape, low weight and the existing rubber coating, the toothbrush lies very well in the hand. Apart from the basic functions there are no additional functions. This makes it very easy to use and the user cannot do anything wrong.
The only LED on the front of the handpiece informs the user about the battery charge status. If the brush is pressed too firmly against the teeth, the pulsations are automatically stopped by the sensitive pressure control. Unfortunately, there is also no visual notification.
The Professional Timer indicates to the user that he should change the brushing area after 30 seconds. After 2 minutes, the end of the brushing time is indicated by a longer vibration.
The battery is relatively powerful and a charge lasted for about 5 days with daily use in the test - certainly not a best value but still okay. Via the charging station, the battery is fully charged within almost 20 hours, which is again extremely long and is due to the outdated battery technology.
We had no problems whatsoever when testing the Oral-B PRO 1000.
Cleaning Performance
The head of the Oral-B PRO 1000 moves rotating, oscillating and pulsating - very good for an entry-level model. As a result, the teeth are thoroughly cleaned. The cleaning performance is also significantly better than with a classic manual toothbrush - this was clearly demonstrated in the test.
The CrossAction slip-on brush has diagonally arranged bristles. This means that each tooth is individually enclosed and the user benefits from a very clean cleaning result.
Both the tactile and visual cleaning sensation was very good in the test, although not as good as with the more expensive models from Oral-B.
The teeth are reliably clean after the 2-minute brushing interval. Gums are not stressed as much as most other Oral-B models, thanks to the generally weaker motor and less pulsation. Thus, despite sensitive gums, our tester did not experience any irritation or injury even in the initial phase of the test.
Considering the really reasonable price, the cleaning performance of the electric toothbrush is good - very good.
Pressure Sensor
The Pressure Sensor is one of the features that this Oral-B electric toothbrush is most proud of. Unfortunately, it does not live up to the expectations of the users. There are observations that the sensor only functions and does put the pulsating motion to stop only when the user actually applies too much intensity on his teeth, which is may be improbable already.

Yes, the Oral-B attachments fit all the brand's hand pieces. However, you should be aware that the brushes must be replaced after three months at the latest. Old attachments whose bristles have already discoloured should therefore not be used on the new toothbrush.
