If you're using LibreOffice Writer or Microsoft Word and need accented characters or logic/math symbols that aren't available in Times New Roman (or Times), please use GNU FreeFont for this purpose. GNU FreeFont is a free (non-proprietary) font that covers a good part of the Unicode character set. GNU FreeFont comes in three varieties: serif, sans serif, and typewriter. The serif variety matches Times New Roman the best and is probably what you would want to use. I've included a local copy of the TrueType version of GNU FreeFont below, but it's also available from the GNU FreeFont directory.
