Rasoul's  research has been focused on the application of pore network modeling, data science (machine learning) and image processing in unsaturated soils. He has developed novel pore network modeling techniques to investigate different processes in unsaturated soils. His endeavor and interests in pore-scale models led him to conduct a second MSc now on the application of pore network models in tissue engineering and biomechanics in Oxford Brookes University (Oxford Polytechnic).
