Public Communication Initiative

I am one of the founders and co-directors of the Public Communication Initiative, housed in UNLV's Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. The PCI conducts research, hosts workshops, creates content, and provides community outreach related to public communication, storytelling, translation of technical topics to public audiences, media and social media, and persuasion.

Feel free to email the PCI at publiccomminitiative@unlv.edu

Nuclear Energy Publication

PCI research assistant Hannah K. Patenaude and I published the article, "Topical analysis of nuclear experts’ perceptions of publics, nuclear energy, and sustainable futures" in Frontiers in Science and Environmental Communication in 2022.

The paper won the 2022 Innovations in Nuclear Energy Award in the Energy Policy category awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
