Public Communication Initiative
I am the founder and Director of the Public Communication Initiative, housed in UNLV's Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. The PCI conducts research, hosts workshops, creates content, and provides community outreach related to public communication, storytelling, translation of technical topics to public audiences, media and social media, and persuasion.

Nevada Environmental Justice Coalition
The PCI collaboraed with the Nevada Environmental Justice Coalition to analyze survey and community listening session data the group had collected on Nevadans' priorities. The data was used to inform the NEJC's advocacy priorities for the 2025 legislative session.
Nevada Climate Survey
The PCI collaboraed with Governor Sisolak's Climate Initiative on the Nevada Climate Survey to inform the 2020 NV Climate Strategy. Read key results from our survey here.
Nuclear Energy Publication
PCI research assistant Hannah K. Patenaude and I published the article, "Topical analysis of nuclear experts’ perceptions of publics, nuclear energy, and sustainable futures" in Frontiers in Science and Environmental Communication in 2022.
The paper won the 2022 Innovations in Nuclear Energy Award in the Energy Policy category awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
