Shunkang ZHANG. May 19. Rematerialization & Tensor Swapping. We covered optimization techniques in training large-scale deep learning model. Specially, we discussed rematerialization which saves time by recomputing a value instead of loading it from memory based on static and dynamic computing graph, such as Dynamic Tensor Rematerialization.
Cong ZHENG. March 17. Market Making. In this group meeting, we first introduced basic concepts of market making. We also discussed Inventory management based on the AS model .
Jiafa HE. March 10. Introduction of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Smart Contracts and Dapps. In this group meeting, we covered the basic workflow of different decentralized applications based on the Blockchain technology, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Smart Contracts and Dapps. We firstly overviewed the history and development of the blockchain, and then introduced the role of Ethereum as the platform for various decentralized applications, such as faucet (a simple example of smart contracts) and decentralized auction systems. Finally, we also discussed the pros and cons of decentralized applications as well as the potential direction for future improvement.
