What is the Danielson Framework for Teaching?

The Framework for Teaching, created by Charlotte Danielson, is a research-based tool for supporting and assessing teacher practice. The Framework identifies the components of teacher practice that have been documented through empirical studies and theoretical research as promoting improved student learning. Danielson also emphasizes that The Framework for Teaching should be used as "a means to promote clear and meaningful conversations about effective teaching practice." (Danielson, Charlotte. The Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument. Princeton, NJ: The Danielson Group, 2013.)

What are the ISTE Standards for Teachers?

The ISTE Standards for Teachers (ISTE Standards•T) are the "standards for evaluating the skills and knowledge educators need to teach, work and learn in an increasingly connected global and digital society. As technology integration continues to increase in our society, it is paramount that teachers possess the skills and behaviors of digital age professionals. Moving forward, teachers must become comfortable being co-learners with their students and colleagues around the world." ("ISTE Standards for Teachers." ISTE Standards for Teachers. N.p., n.d.
