2c: Managing Classroom Procedures

  • LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (LMS) helps teacher save time, keep classes organized, and improve communication with students. An LMS allows teachers to provide flipped mini-lessons, differentiate instruction for varied interest and skill level, create and collect assignments paperlessly, enable asynchronous class discussions, and check for understanding via a variety of formative and summative assessment tools. CANVAS is the adopted LMS in the Pewaukee School District.

  • QR CODES (Quick Response Codes) can be attached to various areas of the classroom to provide information, reminders, video tutorials, and directions. Examples:

    • Classroom rules: Students create skits or display ways in which the rules are followed in the classroom.

    • Science lab procedures

    • Usage and safety videos for machines in Science, Tech Ed , F/CS labs.

2d: Student Behavior

  • CLASS DOJO is a classroom tool that helps teachers save time, boost classroom engagement, and improve student behavior. Award/deduct points, affectionately known as "dojos" for positive or negative behavior. ClassDojo also lets you communicate student progress with parents and students.

  • GO NOODLE Fun tool for brain breaks, teamwork, movement, etc.

  • CLASS CHARTS Plan ahead: Seating Plans and effective behavior management will help keep pupils and staff safe
