Generally, accurate modelling of electrical machines requires the use of finite-element method. However, FE analysis is too time consuming, especially at first design stages, from the point of view of engineers working in R&D departments in the electrical machine industry. To reduce pre-design stages duration, analytical models are often preferred.
In this paper we have systematically studied and reviewed about the analytical modeling of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine. The paper has the title, "Analytical modeling-based optimal design of multilayered and multisegmented D-type interior permanent magnet synchronous motor," which is published in International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, vol. 31, no. 5, e12876, March 2021 and authored by Malik Muhammad Zaid, Muhammad Umiar Aslam, Muhammad Sibtain, Saqib Hasnain and Jong Suk Ro - which has been a collaboration between different universities incl. Chung-Ang University.

Multilevel inverters (MLIs) are extensively used in industrial and renewable energy applications. They are a promising solution for the effective transformation of DC to AC. Researchers are developing auspicious topologies to mitigate the use of an output filter, which reduces cost and complexity. Hence, it is necessary to develop a topology that is capable of increasing output voltage levels with an optimum number of power electronic components.
In this paper we have developed a topology to mitigate the aforementioned problems. The paper has the title, "Optimal Design of a Cascaded Rectangular Type and Circle-Type Multilevel Inverters with a New Switching Technique," which is published in IET Power Electronics, vol. 13, no. 13, pp 2831 – 2846, October 2020 and authored by Malik Muhammad Zaid, and Jong Suk Ro.
