MALIK MUHAMMAD ZAID is an experienced research and development (R&D) engineer and CEO & Founder of Cognitive Engineering Pvt. Ltd. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore (2013-2017), Pakistan. In 2017, he worked as an electrical instructor at Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, Jhelum, Pakistan. In 2018, he was selected to serve as an electrical instructor (BPS-17) at Kahuta Research Laboratory (KRL) Institute of Technology, Naugran, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Later, In 2019, KRL Institute of Technology offered him again to serve as an electrical instructor (BPS-17). In 2019, he was selected for MS in Zhejiang University Hangzhou China, Incheon National University South korea, MS-P.hD. at the Dongguk University South Korea and MS at the Chung-Ang University South Korea. In 2020, he completed his MS from the Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea on a CAYSS (Chung-Ang University Young Scientist Scholarship). In 2021, he worked as a research engineer at the R&D of Typhoon-HIL Asia-Pacific Engineering Centre (Milim Syscon Co. Ltd, korea). He was the incharge of Typhoon HIL devices and performed the duties of lead HIL instructor at HIL Academy, South Korea. In October 2021, he received offers to work as follows; research officer at the University of Malta on a project of designing an interior permanent magnet synchronous machine, Ph.D. researcher at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology Estonia to work on a project of designing a novel power converter topology, Ph.D. researcher at the University of Illinois Chicago USA and researcher at Tampere University Finland. In November 2021, he joined the Tampere University, Finland. Where he worked on a project of "modeling and design of electro-hydraulic working machine with drivetrains" with the collaboration of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Tampere University, Bosch Rexroth Engineering company and Parker Hannifin Corporation. In May 2021, he was selected as a senior research officer at the University of Malta to work on a project of kinetic energy recovery system for a landing aircraft (KERS-Air), New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer, Power Electronics at the R&D of General Electric (GE) Renewable Energy Company, Ph.D. researcher at the Warwick University UK on a funding of Centre for Doctoral Training to Advance the Deployment of Future Mobility Technologies (CDT-FMT) with the collaboration of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Company and Ph.D. researcher at the Newcastle University UK on a funding of Sustainable Electric Propulsion-Centre for Doctoral Training (SEP-CDT) with the collaboration of Dyson Household Appliances Company.

Currently, he is working as a "Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer, Power Electronics" at the "GE Centre of Excellence, R&D Systems Engineering, GE Renewable Energy, Tampere, Finland".

He has 13-publications (6-Journal and 7-Conferences) and is also an editorial board member of SCIREA Journal of Electrical Engineering.
