Project 4: Power Electronics Testbench for the Testing of Multilevel Inverter
A new design of 7 level three phase multilevel inverter is developed by using the RCP B-Box and Typhoon HIL 604. The controller is tested in the RCP B-Box, while the circuit schematic is developed in the typhoon-HIL. Interestingly, the developed single phase topology needs 9-PWM signals. Hence, the control of First Phase is build in the external controller. However, the remaining control of other two-phases are developed inside the Typhoon HIL to generate other 18-PWM signals for the second and third phase. It's really fun to make the C-HIL to build half control in the external controller and build half of the controller inside the HIL.

Project 3: Control Testing of Electric Machine Drives Using Typhoon-HIL
For the control of electrical machines, hardware-in-the-loop plays a very important role in the testing process. In this example, the split phase induction motor is controlled by using the widely used conventional V/f control in the Typhoon HIL 604 device. Oscilloscope is also attached in the hardware configuration to capture the real time simulation results. In the HIL SCADA we can tune the controller and vary the speed, load torque etc in real time based on our requirements.
