The computer program SF-FLD1.Ex_ is available for download. This was developed and compiled by the author in 1988.
Computer programs like this one that were written for the MS-DOS platform may not run on computers that have modern operating systems like Windows 7. However, these programs may be run using an MS-DOS emulating program such as DOSBOX.
To make the program work, download the file "SF-FLD1.Ex_" and then rename the extension to "SF-FLD1.Exe". The calculations are analytical based on closed form solutions to Maxwell's electromagnetic equations.
All units are MKS.
Calculates the Amplitude and Phase of Axial or Radial Magnetic Field Components, or the Magnetic Vector Potential for a pancake coil near 1 or 2 lower plates and 1 upper plate above the coil. Magnetic Field or Vector Potential values are calculated along a RADIAL trajectory.
Positive Axial Position - Z direction is downward in the picture. Increase in Axial Position - Z is further BELOW the coil. Decrease in Axial Position - Z is increased distance above the coil. Zero position for Axial Position - Z is at the top surface of the First Lower Plate.
One output file is a ".dat" file which gives 4 columns of data: 1. radial position in metres, 2. axial position in metres, 3. Magnetic Field or Vector Potential Amplitude, and 4. Magnetic Field or Vector Potential Phase. The other output file is a ".VAL" file which is a record of the input information that the user selected to make the calculation.
