A Project Based Learning Webquest
For this project students will research a conservation topic to present to other students and parents at an Earth Fair to be held in April at your school. Students will create two items for this project. The first item is a presentation and the second is a recyclable art sculpture. For the first presentation students are free to choose whatever medium they would like. They can create a poster, a video, an brochure, a webpage, or any approved medium to answer the driving question: How can I teach others about the importance of conservation?
This website is set up to help you answer the driving question. First, students will need to review the topics and select the one that most interests them. The topics are: energy, water, air, global warming, and green clean. Browse through these topics by selecting them on the menu to your right.
Once students have browsed through the topics, they will choose a topic and write it on the cover of their journal/notebook. This is the topic on which they will become an expert. They will research this topic and take detailed notes in their journal. They will decide how to present the information they have learned to others in a project to be presented at Earth Fair.
In addition to this project, students will completed a recyclable art sculpture to be displayed at Earth Fair. The outline for the sculpture can be found here: earthfair_flyer1.ppt
