Like any person who makes a living... a carpenter, an accountant, a physician, a chef... take your pick... they use tools.
First, you need to set up a primary correspondence email account in Gmail. Then, use this "active" account as your root or base account for all the rest of your Google tools. You will be asked for a verification email address when you set up your Vacation Response account. This root account is your "home" in Google. Everything else (Drive, Sites, Calendar) will be tied to it (and) it will be where you are logged into every day. The Vacation Response account is pretty much a stand-alone, set-it-and-forget-it tool. Other than maintenance and updating, you will not need to go to this Gmail account too often, especially if you have notifications set up for this account on your phone.
As indicated, to get out of the gate, and to baseline something that everyone in our Community does, we teach a two-step (two tools) process that includes:
A drop card, mini-flyer, or business card... (you will find examples under Resources), and;
A Gmail account set up on permanent vacation response that acts as a free, one-message autoresponder. You can see one example of how to set this up HERE or, you can simply Google " - "Set up vacation response in Gmail" and you will find many examples of how to do this.
Again, you will need a correspondence Gmail account. Therefore, if you do not currently use (or have Gmail) you will need to set up a minimum of 2 accounts. FYI, I currently have nearly 20, so yes, you can have more than one account.
Also, you will want to become familiar with and utilize:
Zoom Videoconferencing Software
GoDaddy to buy forwarding domains for your replicated sites
There is also all of the MS Office software, (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
How to use Google Drive and create forms. We use this in our "Getting To Know Each Other" survey
Screen capture software, like Jing
Using advanced features in Gmail like Canned Responses
You will want to become comfortable with Google Calendar in planning your time...
There is scheduling software so people can "book" appointments with you. I use Calendly. However, this will be well after you have developed your own resources.
There is a lot to learn. It takes time and effort. However, the first goal is simple. GET INTO PROFIT and getting into profit with these first two basic tools is possible by anyone. That is a drop card (and) 2 Gmail accounts. The rest is "stuff" you will want to add over time that increases your value. Again, the more you know, the more value you offer, the more people you teach... the more money you will make.
FYI: Content (templates) for your "vacation response" email is on the next page under "Resources". See the Vacation Response Template tab. Play with it, change and edit it to make it fit with who you are. This is just meant to provide a starting point. Or, simply go with it and go for it. You will need to know how to create links and use your Replicated Site Links in this email. If you do not know how to do this, reach out for help, or see this video.
To get started that is pretty much it. At some point, we also strongly encourage you to make an "About Me" site that tells your story and provides a sense of your background, what your aspirations are, how you can help people... This adds to your credibility as a marketer with "resources" and you can use it to enable people to get to know you. This is not necessary to do, initially, but should be a first 30-day goal. Again, you will find more about this on the Resources Tab.
