Christian Testimony:

I was saved by God's grace when I was 5yrs old and I have never been away from church. As far back as I can remember, my dad has been a preacher and has almost always been my pastor. Now, I said I had never been away from church, that doesn't mean that I haven't been away from God from time to time. See, I'm living proof that you can occupy the same spot on the same church pew Sunday after Sunday and still be backsliding. My prayer for our ministry is that we can see souls saved and see backslidden Christians come back to the Lord. The road back home to Jesus is shorter than it seems, all it takes is one step in the right direction.

Music and Life:

I was born into a musical family. I began playing the piano at a very young age but never really developed any talent with it. Then one day, much to the dismay of my piano teacher, my uncle Kevin Chambers started helping me develop my ear for music. I started on a road that day that I would never turn from. Thanks Kevin!!

When I was 18 yrs old, two of the greatest things happened to me. First, I started playing the guitar. I mainly did it because I couldn't carry a piano around with me. I have to give a lot of credit here to my Paw Paw, Floyd Busby (Bill to some) and my uncle Ron Busby. They both spent many a patient hour with me helping me learn how to play that thing. Now that was the first great thing. The second great thing was I met a beautiful young woman named Jennifer Deason. She immediately fell in love with me.....and in December of 2010 we will celebrate our 10 yr wedding anniversary. We are the parents to two of the most beautiful girls you'll ever see; Anna Grace and Emma Faith.

Influences:

My music has been greatly influenced by many different people. I wouldn't be the musician I am today without them. So here's a list of people for you to blame or thank, whichever the case may be. The Family Circle, Floyd "Bill" Busby, Ron Busby, Kevin Chambers, Darryle and Debbi Wilson, New Tradition for making me believe bluegrass can be cool, The Isaacs, The Inspirations, The Hinsons, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, The Gaither Vocal Band, Bill Gaither, Ben Isaacs. There are many, many more… too many, in fact, to mention here.

Let me lastly say thanks for stopping by our page and I hope to see you at one of our concerts/singings soon.

May God bless and keep you,

Matt Wilson
