The ELDOA™ Method can help to:

improve your functional posture

decrease your back and neck pain

facilitate injury prevention and improve your sport performance

improve your recovery for sport and training

What is it?

When a joint becomes compressed due to gravity, activity, or injury, it's ability to move correctly becomes compromised. This can lead to discomfort, pain, altered function, tension, arthritis, and neurological conditions. This can happen not only locally at the joint, but the pain and dysfunction can be referred to other areas of the body as well. The ELDOA™ Method postures are a highly effective solution to decrease the severity of these situations while improving flexibility, stability, strength, mobility and function. The precision of these postures are an effective and efficient way to restore balance not only within a joint, but throughout the whole body.

The ELDOA™ (the English translation is LOADS)* Method consists of various postural exercises that, once learned, can be done on your own with the primary goal being to increase the space within a chosen joint. They were designed by French osteopath Guy VOYER DO, and they utilize precise positioning and fascial stretching to localize tension around a specific joint. This helps to not only improve strength around the joint, but it also creates space and postural normalization in the joint.

The benefits of the ELDOA™ Method include

          • improved posture

          • improved in joint mechanics

          • decreased pain

          • improved spinal disc hydration

          • reduced pressure on the spinal disc and nerve root

          • improved muscle performance and tone

          • reduced stress at the joint and throughout the body

          • improved circulation

          • improved flow of cerebral spinal fluid

          • improved body awareness

          • improved overall wellbeing

The ideal situation is to work with a practitioner, therapist, or coach who is trained in the ELDOA™ Method so they can guide you through the nuances of positioning because your form is one of the keys to your success.

The postures are held for one minute each with maximum effort to relieve compression and create space. It's powerful work and when done regularly, these postures can have a profound effect. It is also an excellent way to maintain the benefits of your manual therapy treatment session for a longer period of time.
