Map of the family and neighbouring farms

In Dylan's time, the main farms on his mother's side, the Williamses, were Pen-y-coed, Maesgwyn, Llwyngwyn, Meini, Llettyrneuadd, Pencelli-uchaf, Plas Isaf, Pentowyn, Fernhill, Mwche, Down and Laques-newydd.

On Jim Jones' side, they were Dolaumeinion, Pentrewyman, Penhen, Clyn-mawr, Llwynddu, Llwyn, Church House, Ffynnonfair and, of course, Fernhill. Clomendy had left the Jones side by the 1880s, and Penyclun around 1919.
