Walter Wilkinson, 1947

Walter Wilkinson was a well-known puppeteer and artist. He was also a writer with eight books to his name, which were mostly about his travels around the country with his puppets. You can read more about him here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Wilkinson_(puppeteer)

In 1947, he brought his puppets to Wales, and came to New Quay to put on one of his shows. You can find his chapter on the town at the following link. The chapter is taken from Wilkinson's book, Puppets in Wales (1948). It provides an insightful description of the town as Dylan would have known it during his stay in 1944-1945.
