Which strategies speak to you? Why? If I had to choose a strategy that speaks to me I would have to say being vulnerable. This strategy speaks to me because I've done this in the past as well as right now during my student teaching. I've always made small mistakes in front of my student's however, I catch myself and I acknowledge that I've made a mistake. Even when they make a mistake themselves I tell them not to worry about it too much but, to grow from it.
Which have you seen in action? What is your reaction to them? A strategy that I have seen in action would have to be keeping up with your past students. I am currently on the 3rd - grade team and when my mentor teacher or myself cross paths with the 4th graders they are filled with excitement and so are we! I always enjoy seeing their faces and sitting with them during their lunchtime just to catch up with them during their new journey.
Is there anything you would add to the list?
What are your thoughts about the importance of relationships as they relate to the classroom? My thoughts on the importance of relationships as they relate to the classroom are that your classroom is designed to be a safe space as well as a space for learning. So in order to accomplish both, you must build that bond between teacher and student so that they will allow you to teach them and come to you for anything.
