TAPE

TAPE (TAOS II EVENT OBSERVABLE PARAMETER ESTIMATION) aims to derive three observables from occultation light curves, each of which is width, depth, and height (Figure 1). In Figure 1, we show a simulated occultation light curve by a KBO whose distance is 43 AU, diameter is 3 km. Sampling rate of the light curve is 20 Hz. The magnitude of the background star is 12.

In order to estimate the three observables, we fit the light curve with a model consisting of two function, Gaussian and step function as shown in Figure 2. The estimated three observables (shown in the lower right corner of the figure) is used to estimate parameters.
