About Me

I am Dae-Won Kim (김대원, 金大元), who is an astronomer and data scientist. My primary research interests are in machine learning and statistical data analysis for large amount of data, especially in time domain (i.e. light curves). I have been analyzed many different datasets such as Gaia, MACHO, EROS-2, OGLE, TAOS, ASAS, LINEAR, Hipparcos, Pan-STARRS, TAOS II, etc. to detect and characterize periodic variable stars, QSOs, transients, occultations, etc.

As of Nov. 1st 2016, I joined Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), South Korea. My primary work will be researching and developing machine learning algorithms/methods for general applications.
