3. Ride Impressions

I did the back wheel several months before doing the front wheel. My impressions after just doing the back wheel were:

1) I felt more confident on the bike. Steering effort was still the same (as the front wheel had not yet been down), but the bike was turning better, particularly flicking it through a set of S's.

2) The rear suspension felt less harsh. I have upgraded the suspension on my bike and spend a fair bit of time getting it dialled in, but the Outex installation has removed that last bit of harshness

After two rides with both wheels done:

1) I feel far more relaxed on the bike. I have always found that I tend to tense up as I ride, and with the reduced effort to steer the bike I have found that I am not tensing up. This was particularly noticeable after a 3 day ride that I was not sore like I would normally be.

2) The front suspension now also feels less harsh.

3) I have found I am holding my line better through corners.

4) Flicking the bike through a set of S's is great fun.

Looking at the weight of a set of tubes, particularly compared to the weight of an entire wheel, it is hard to belive that this modification can make such a difference.
