Tactical Basics for Armed Home Defense and Concealed Carry
A. The Tactical Basics Courses are instructed by experienced current and retired law enforcement professionals, firearms instructors and range safety officers.
B. The courses cover:
Basic firearm handling & safety
Myths vs facts and legal issues
Firearm and accessory selection
Basic tactical approach to threats
Tactical shooting skill development
Scenario based tactical shooting drills, etc.
C. Course Information
The courses consist of 5 sessions on selected evenings and Saturday mornings or afternoons.
Each class is limited to 10 participants on a first come, first serve basis.
The First Session consists of Classroom Instruction and this session is Mandatory.
Courses are typically offered once in the Spring, once in the summer, and once in the fall. Check the Dubuque IWLA Calendar at www.iwla.org/dubuque for dates the courses are offered.
