Wine Tasting

Wines are like people. Tasting a wine is like getting to know a person. When you meet a stranger (say, me), you first see my face and dressing. My appearance suggests something about me. For example, am I a tidy person? If I have a handsome face, you may want to know more about me, so you come closer for the second phase--talk to me. If the conversation reveals a sense of humour and charm, you may even want to make friends with me. Only when a close contact is made (the third phase) can you then find out if we click or not. Similarly, when you taste a wine, you go through the following three phases: see the appearance, smell the aroma, and taste it in your palate.

Spirit is called "eau de vie" (the water of life) in French. I surely love life, and I also love wine and spirit. I have a Level 2 certificate in Wines and Spirits Tasting awarded by WSET. After all, most of us have been drunk at least once in our life, so you may want to know the best wines to get yourself drunk! Anyone can get drunk, but not everyone knows how to taste. This webpage is written for wine/spirit lovers who want to learn some knowledge of wine, wine making and wine tasting techniques.
