Teaching

I value teaching and have a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the University of Aberdeen. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I've taught on a range of topics in the past, including visual awareness, short and long-term memory, language, biological psychology, history of psychology, cognitive neuroscience, research ethics, perception, philosophy of science, matlab programming and music perception and cognition.

One of my favourite courses to teach was "Music and the Brain", an enhanced learning third year interdisciplinary module based at the School of Music in Aberdeen, open to all students who've taken at least one Music or one Psychology module in their first and second year. The module brought together mainly psychology and music students and allowed them to learn more about the perceptual and cognitive factors that influence the ways in which we listen to, understand and enjoy music.

Currently, my favourite course to teach is the Honours option "From Perception to Cognition: A Journey in Colour".
