2009-2011 Consulting Board Member. UNI Grant for The Inclusive Early Childhood Literate Community Integrated Narrative Development (IND) Software System: Supporting Early Literacy & Communication for All: a two-year $400,000 Steppingstones of Technology Innovation for Children with Disabilities grant from the U.S. Department of Education to develop a highly interactive software system to promote the emergent literacy and communication skills of young children with significant developmental disabilities. Dr. Amy Staples and Dr. Chris Kliewer, principle investigators.

2002 - 2004 Consultant on U.S. Department of Education grant awarded to North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC. CREATT: Culturally Responsive Early Intervention in Assistive Technology Training.

2002 - 2003 Orange County Public Schools Technology Inclusion Evaluation. Conducted comprehensive district-wide assessment of technology inclusion for all certified personnel, i.e., teachers and administrators.

1995 - 2000 Consultant on Education 2000: Offered in conjunction with the Computer Training Unit, NCSU McKimmon Center. The curriculum consists of six workshops offered by the Computer Training Unit of McKimmon Center, together with ECI 501 (ECI 714/ECI 511) and ECI 548 (ECI 715/ECI 514) offered in the Dept. of C&I. The courses focus on technology training and integration for K-12 teachers. Once teachers complete all the courses successfully, they are eligible to receive the Special Endorsement in Computer Education (18079) awarded by the NC SDPI through NCSU's College of Education and Psychology.
