I work with children to help them worry less, have more fun, make friends, and feel calm, brave and confident.
I adapt my approach to suit the individual strengths and needs of each child, and I work hard to build trust and create a safe and friendly environment where children feel able to talk about their thoughts and worries. During the sessions, we draw and play games while we are talking, and together we learn and practice strategies that help children to manage their anxiety or anger, face their fears, build their social skills and learn how to flourish.
Involving parents and families is central to my approach, and I help parents to support their children as they start to use the strategies they have learned in our sessions. In some instances, a child’s broader network may also have a role to play, and I am more than happy to involve teachers, schools, and the extended family where appropriate.
