Ding was formally decanted and released to House Jorasco in 990 YK after a year of training. He served in the field with several Halfling and human agents of House Jorasco, including a few nobles. Most of his clients, who he calls "marks", treated him as a friendly but expendable asset, which over time began to rankle him. In 996 YK, Ding was freed from servitude by the provisions of the Treaty of Thronehold. After being set free, Ding wandered Khorvaire from job to job, taking positions as bodyguard for anyone with coin and an honorable demeanor. Once or twice, Ding even joined bands of adventurers to protect the innocent from various unnatural threats. In general though, he now drifts around hoping to discover his new purpose.
Ding is optimized for a defensive/protective role, with heavy armor and bodyguard conditioned reflexes. He is also equipped with various arcane projectors and spell emulation crystals for additional flexibility with Evocation and Abjuration spells. Finally, Ding is equipped with an integral chirurgeon's kit, allowing him to skillfully perform field surgery and wound care. Ding has little ability to do diagnoses or treatment outside of repairing injuries and wounds... his training is narrow but deep.
Ding is slightly larger than most “envoys”, though not as large as a Warforged Juggernaut. He moves quietly and precisely, with the mellow and refined speaking voice of . One notable characteristic is that Ding’s hands and fingers are coated in silver, which allegedly makes them cleaner and more sterile in medical environments. It also distinguishes him from other Warforged, giving him a sense of individuality missing from many of his kin. The rest of him is the usual light brown of many Warforged, and his eyes glow a sprightly green. Ding usually wears black leather gloves and a greenish-gray cloak left over from the war, mostly as an affectation - he needs little shielding from the environment.
Ding Silverhand is a Warforged Envoy, designed and built by House Cannith for use by agents of House Jorasco. As many members of that House are quite small in stature, it was felt that a bodyguard able to protect and support them in the field would be a useful thing. Despite being a genderless construct, Ding identifies as male because his initial client, “First Mistress Petra d’Jorasco”, referred to him as such. His name, "Ding" was also given to him by First Mistress Petra, allegedly because of the shine of his hands - he likes the sound of it and has refused to change it.

CHIRURGEON'S KIT - The Renaissance equivalent of an ER crash kit, the Chirurgeon's Kit allows a healer to mend injuries and trauma. It confers no ability to do diagnoses or administer medicinal cures for diseases. The kit is meant only for injuries and trauma, though the exact nature of the injuries can vary widely. A healer can cure up to 1d4 plus their proficiency bonus in damage. It can also be used as a standard healer's kit, stabilizing someone who is "dead". The Chirurgeon's kit has ten charges - stabilizing a mortal wound uses one charge as does healing lost HP. A full recharge requires two healer's kits.

Grandchild of a House Tharashk exorciate, Athyra possesses the Mark of Finding, but has no ties to the Dragonmarked House. She grew up in or around Sharn and spent the Last War working for criminal organizations that used the old goblin caverns and tunnels to transport goods through the pitch black beneath the City of Towers.
