Another site that was developed for a class project and was written with HTML5 and used CSS. Although it is based on a fictional school it incorporates a Google calendar and information gathering forms that could be used on any site.
This site was developed as part of a class project. As a group we were given the task of developing a professional development program for teachers. From our needs assessment we decided that the teachers would need a place to access the information that was shared in a face-to-face workshop. This website was developed to address that need as well as share with those who would not be able to attend. That led me to develop one of the highlights of this site which is incorporating a web-based lesson into it. It was written with HTML5 and used CSS and the lesson was created with SoftChalk and can be viewed in Web Based Lessons.
This site is no longer available as it was through NIU's Google Education Apps program.
This is the first Google Site I completed. It was created to help learn aspects of Google Apps including how to build a Google Site. These all have helped me to assist others who want to build simple sites without using programming code. Personally, I prefer to build sites with code or use web building applications that will allow me to edit using HTML.
UPDATE: I learned quite a bit doing using Google Sites but since then they have upgraded their interface and it is much easier to use. The Portfolio site that I used to make this has been transferred over from the old Google Sites and it looks much better. You can view the old site here: Donna Lannerd old Google Site. You can see how cleaner and less clunky the new site is.
