Writing documentation is a bit like eating your vegetables. You know you should.
It keeps you (your org) healthy.
But they're just not as tasty as pizza & beer (amirite?)
For your users
- So they know what you're up to
- So they know how to use the new functionality
- So they can remind themselves 6 months from now how to use that functionality you built!
For your colleagues
- You depend on their work.
- They depend on yours.
- Make sure they have the information they need to do their jobs and with any luck, they'll reciprocate.
For your future self!
- It's brutal to not remember why or how you built something . With documentation, you have a record!
Bottom line: Sharing is caring.
