Tips for health, happiness and peace.
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Doc Ro Ho website!
This educational project is currently centered around live video presentations on various topics. There are six key pillars, or areas of focus:
1) Relationships: with self, family, community.
2) Food/Nutrition: the latest food science can be used to prevent/reverse many diseases and improve health in general.
3) Movement/Exercise: essential for health, resources to avoid injury
4) Relaxation Techniques/Meditation/Self-Awareness
5) Goals/Purpose/Hobbies/Fun/Volunteering/Service to Others
6) Preventative Measures: for example, quitting tobacco, wearing seat-belts
Show time was usually at 7:30 PM CST on Monday evenings, broadcasting into the Doc Ro Ho Facebook page. The information in these presentations is often drawn from several references. To find those references, please look for the "References and Resources" comments after each presentation.
For closed-captioning of these presentations and to see them grouped together in various playlists, you can also visit the Doc Ro Ho You Tube Channel.
For even more healthy ideas and tips, you can explore the FWB Plant Based Health (WFPBNO) Facebook Group, which has even more ideas, recipes, and articles.
I highly recommend the following resources: www.nutritionfacts.org, www.ornish.com, www.pcrm.org. Collectively, these references are a comprehensive way to start learning about the profound impact of food on health. These sites are often instrumental in the creation of the video presentations.
Please remember, the ideas expressed on this page are intended to be educational only and to spark a conversation between you and your trusted medical professional. Everyone’s personal circumstances are different. This page is certainly not a substitute for seeking medical care or advice. Please talk to your personal physician for recommendations regarding your own personal medical circumstances, including medication adjustment and appropriateness of any dietary recommendations for yourself and your family.
If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your local emergency room. I do not answer personal medical questions on this venue. If you are a current patient of mine or my clinic and have a need, please call the appointment line and schedule an appointment or otherwise contact the clinic in the usual ways. Facebook, Facebook messenger, and the Facebook group are NOT appropriate venues for medical needs. Please treat everything you write on the internet, even in a private message, as if it is public. These pages are not HIPPA/Privacy Act compliant. Asking general questions about a topic is okay, but no personal information, please!
All opinions and views expressed are my own and do not represent any other entity. Of course, the sources from which the information is gathered are quoted for transparency and depth. Sometimes in order to make a point, I may hold up a particular food or other item from our local grocery store. This is not intended to be an endorsement of any particular brand, but simply to be a visual aid or example to help with communication. Likewise, there are many books and references available for each of the topics discussed; the ones that I reference in this educational project are intended to help give a practical starting point for people who want to explore these ideas further.
I hope you find the information useful! May you find your health and happiness improve with greater awareness of how the body and mind are impacted by simple, daily habits. Thanks for watching!
Peace, love and joy...
