UT MD Anderson School of Health Professions

Summer Research Program for High School Seniors - UT MD Anderson School of Health Professions

Applications are open through Jan. 14, 2021 for the 61st Annual Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation High School Summer Program in Biomedical SciencesJune 7‑Aug. 13, 2021.

Attached is our informational flyer for potential applicants to the program (current seniors in a Texas public, private, charter, or home school graduating prior to the start of the program). For more information visit our web page (http://bit.ly/SHP-HS-Summer) or contact me directly (email preferred). In short, we will select 7 students and pair each to an MD Anderson faculty member. The participants will work during normal business hours in their mentor’s laboratory working on research.

Students will receive a scholarship to help defray expenses during the program. The program does not provide for housing, parking, transportation, food, or otherwise.

The Summer Experience program is anticipating typical laboratory research operations on campus next summer, however, a contingency is in place for part-time remote working opportunities under our mentors if MD Anderson continues its lockdown through next summer. We will inform applicants of any decisions when they are made.

No new applications will be taken after January 14. We plan to invite applicants by February 12.
