I don't know how Panasonic have formatted the DMR-EH68's hard drive, but it has difficulty in reading and writing at the same time.
Well it can record and play back video ok but you can't record a TV show and play back music.
Sometimes I'll be recording a show whilst I'm otherwise engaged, like putting the child to sleep, but want to hear some music whilst reading a story.
The JukeBox facility is useless in this situation and I have to use a standard CD player, so any advantage in storing your music is lost.
Simialarly if somebody is over for dinner and some ambient music is required, if there's a show on you'll be recording you can't use the JukeBox facility.
Even the lowest spec laptop can read and write at the same time, I don't know how processor intensive these two tasks would be and don't know what processor is in the DMR-EH68 but surely this would be an obvious user case scenario if it is being sold as a Media JukeBox?
You also can't edit existing files/videos, like give them names or setup and delete chapters. The only option is to watch another video or watch the one you're recording.
Epic fail for usability.
