Panasonic DMR-BW850GZK

Even better than the DMR-XW350GZK because it is a BluRay Recorder

I haven't had a chance to play with one so can't comment on it's features and usability.

But I have got a DMR-BW880 Panasonic Blu Ray recorder now.

I found a review here http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=8482

From the Panasonic website:

It’s the world’s first Blu-ray recorder to arrive in New Zealand, and it’s bound to impress. The DMR-BW850, provides recording of up to 240 hours of high definition video content onto its 500GB Hard Drive, or onto Blu-ray discs which offer six times the storage capacity of DVDs.

When you play, or record high definition content on this Blu-Ray recorder, you’ll see and experience the highest quality of image reproduction, and crisp 5.1 channel surround sound. There is no loss through conversion, or sacrifice to compression, everything is reproduced in glorious detail.

The built-in twin Freeview tuners, not only provide free high-definition TV, but you have the option of recording two digital TV channels at once, even while you’re watching something else.

More smart functionality includes VIERA CAST, for easy access to You Tube and an SD memory card slot and USB terminal, for downloading photos. What’s more you can save and play all your music through Juke Box.

JB Hi-FI have a pretty tempting deal at the moment

but I'm sure Robert T. Kiyosaki would call it a liability.
