Panasonic DMR-EH68

This is intended to be a long term review of my Panasonic DVD Recorder in terms of it's usability and funtionality and what could be done to make it better to live up to the tagline "Ideas for Life"

Basically it does everything it says on the box, but what you really want to know is how well it does it.

Before I got the DVDR, I had the opportunity to use a Philips DVDR with a hard drive (I can't find the model right now) which I'll use for a comparision in functionality along with Sky's MySkyHDi Box.

Specs

The DMR-EH68 does all the standard stuff you'd expect it to when replacing an older VCR machine with regards to recording TV broadcasts and setting the timer recording or using the G-Code system.

It has a huge 320 GB hard drive, now looking small next the 1TB USB drives available, and an SDHC card slot along with a DVD tray that can record what seems like all available formats (DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW) and can play DivX and Region 4 discs.

There's also a USB port that can be used for playing MP3, DivX and JPEG files and a DV in port for copying from a Video Camcorder
