A. VIDEO RECORDING of your class As part of the CFG Class Observation and Feedback, you are required to record one of your classes and have the recording submitted to the supervising agent assigned to your CFG group. The class you're recording should be a normal / regular class you're teaching, and you do not have to run a special class for the purpose of recording. Please test the video recorder ahead of time to make sure it's set to include most things that are going on in your class (both teachers, all or at least some students, blackboard, screen/TV, etc.) and records audio well as well.
B. SENDING video recording and lesson plan via email After recording, it's your responsibility to send the recording of your class with the lesson plan to everyone in your CFG group (4 or 5 NETs excluding yourself), and the supervising agent for your CFG group via email. Please be sure to name your video recording and lesson plan files with your name and school name so the CFG members can identify which is whose. To keep your email address confidential and share them with those only necessary, we will send the email addresses of the group members for each CFG group via email.
C. WATCHING the recorded classes and completing LESSON OBSERVATION FORM Once you receive others' videos, you are required to watch the recorded classes and complete a Lesson Observation Form for each video and bring the completed forms (2 copies for each video) to the Workshop. As the observation form will contain your feedback about the recorded class, it will be used for discussion at the workshop. While we believe everyone will not miss the deadline to send the video, please keep each other on check so that you receive everyone's video, being able to complete the lesson observation forms before the workshop.
D. completing LESSON REFLECTION FORM for your recorded class After you have video recorded one of your classes, you have to complete the Lesson Reflection Form and submit it before the Teaching Enhancement Workshop, preferably right after you finish recording your class. The completed Lesson Reflection Form can be submitted via email to the coordinators' submission email address, dmoe.sub@gmail.com.
2. Teaching Enhancement Workshop. Your attendance is mandatory! At the workshop, you will meet with your CFG group members and supervising agent to go over and discuss your recorded class. You must bring your completed Lesson Observation Form for each video (2 copies each) to the workshop. Please think of this as an opportunity to gain some insight and helpful pointers about your class from the supervising agents and other teacher. The workshop aims to foster meaningful discussions and connections between the NETs so please take advantage of the opportunity to learn from each other.
The lesson observation form is designed with facilitating discussions in mind, with a "strengths and weaknesses" section below each major category. Please use this section to make thorough notes to use towards a meaningful discussion after the class observation. You may also want to look this over before planning your own open class. A form will be sent as an attachment to those applicable via email.
