Audible

Audible have a separate page for their Kids collection -- and parents can set up subaccounts for children.

The search interface isn't ideal. See the user-generated lists to start with.

If you are interested in picture books from Audible, this LibraryThing catalog shows a lot of what they have (including prices) -- DigitalMedia.

Geographic restrictions

Unfortunately, there are geographic limitations on some audio books, restricting what you can buy from which country. "From which country" has two components: which country you tell the vendor you are located in, and which country your credit card billing address is in.

The interface for Audible makes it hard to get a comprehensive list of audio picture books available and the list-making tool they provide is not so easy to use, so I created a LibraryThing catalog to keep a list of them.

See DigitalMedia catalog on LibraryThing. The ones tagged "audible" and "NOT_Singapore" are available with a US address/credit card, but not with a Singapore address/credit card.

How many activations can I have for each device on multiple computers?

<<Each Audible.com customer is allowed 4 desktop activations and 3 device activations for each type. Once you have reached your maximum allocations, you will receive the error message that you can not activate anymore and that you need to deactivate your device(s). To prevent this from happening, please keep track of your activation history. If you do happen to go over the limit, you can contact us by phone, e-mail or chat and we would be happy to reset your account.>>

<< Audible allows you to use up to 4 computers and up to 3 portable devices for each type. These allocations are called Activations. Their purpose is to authorize and enable your computer or device to play content from your Audible account.

This process will automatically occur when you attempt to install and use AudibleManager from a new computer or when you add a new portable device.

Once you have reached the Activation limit, you will get an error message that you can't activate anymore and must deactivate your computer(s) and/or device(s). Since Deactivation is not an automatic process, here is how to do it:

Please note you must have access to the computer and / or portable device that you are trying to deactivate for this process to work.

    • Launch AudibleManager on the computer you want to Deactivate and/or connect any portable device you wish to Deactivate.

    • In AudibleManager go to Devices, and select Deactivate.
