Instruct team members in rules, scoring, scorecards, format, honors, responsibilities, penalties, starting times, schedules, rules and all matters associated with match play. Remind each player to mark her ball for easy identification.
She is responsible for assigning team positions #1 through #8, numerically lowest to highest according to current indices. She has the right to choose herself as a player in each competition regardless of her handicap/index as it relates to the other team members with lower handicaps/indices.
Teams will be fielded based on the lowest handicapped players available. The teams will be paired in order of their handicaps from low to high.
Three days prior to play, each team captain must email a copy of her roster showing each player’s name, handicap index, GHIN number and handicap at the hosting course. Also email the current GHIN Handicap Sheet with her team members’ names highlighted.
The team captain is to pay for the lunches and carts with one check made out to the host club. Team members will be charged by their own clubs. Lunches and carts are mandatory at all clubs.
The captain shall complete the scoring form and compare it with the form of the opposing team captain. Both captains must sign and attest to the accuracy of the scores. Send a picture of the signed scoring sheet to the scoring chair following play. Each club captain is responsible for posting her players’ scores on the same day as competition, or she may designate the posting to her pro shop or individuals players.
Each team captain should provide a copy of the DVTP Rules of Play to each member of her team prior to play.
The team captain is responsible for hosting team play at her home course. Information regarding cost, shotgun time, course slope and rating and any other pertinent information will be sent by the team captain to each DVTP team at least three weeks prior to the date of play.
The host club must provide an appropriate lunch. Breakfast and Snacks are optional, but providing a place for players to gather in the morning and/or a contintenal type breakfast is encouraged. Please note in your hosting email what your club will be providing if anything for breakfast and snacks or indicate neither will be provided.
