2021 Spring Meeting

Post date: Feb 14, 2021 10:41:36 PM

It is time again for our club's annual general meeting. The meeting will be held on Sunday, February 28th at 1:00 PM at the Denver Community Center (100 Washington St.). This is a time for the membership to get questions answered and help the board with the direction of the club.

An important part of this meeting will be an update on the field project and decisions on upcoming fundraising planning. This meeting also includes the election of new board members. This year the positions up for election include: Fields director (currently open but being covered by Gabe Shepard), Coaching Director (currently open), Referee Coordinator (currently held by Kristen Graber). We are currently in desperate need of Referee Coordinator and Fields Director. Please see and read the recent announcement regarding Upcoming Events and Important Changes for more info. It is critical to the continued success of our club that we seek out volunteers willing to serve on the board so we can spread the knowledge about what it takes to run the club from year to year. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in serving on the board, please contact me with any questions so I can get them answered in time to get names on a ballot at the meeting. Particularly, if you have younger children in or coming into soccer, we would like to get you involved. You will need to be the future leaders of the club and getting involved now will make future transitions seamless.

Our club has grown to provide a place for more than 150 kids to play soccer. We not only have kids from Denver, but also from Readlyn, Fairbank, Sumner, and other surrounding areas where they have heard of what we are doing and want to be a part of it. Our goal is to help spread soccer and it is working. Our success will only continue with the involvement of more of our members. Please give some thought to helping out the club in some way, be that by becoming a board member, serving on a committee/helping with fields, volunteering to be a coach, or in whatever other way you can.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I hope to see you at the meeting.
