Parent Volunteers

During the season we will need parents to volunteer for different positions to help meets run smoothly. Here is a list and description of some possible ways you can help at our home meets.

  • Head Timer - Makes sure all timers have their equipment running and also runs two spare stopwatches in case a stopwatch of a timer malfunctions.

  • Timers - Each lane will need two (2) timers. A timer will be provided with a stopwatch, clipboard, and pen. There will be a brief meeting prior to the meet starting for all timers so as to instruct use of the stop watches and a button that is connected to the touch pad. You will start watch when the swimmers are started and stop when they touch the wall. Then record the time you have on the swimmers card, 00:00.00.

  • Timing system and PC operators - One person operates the computer and one person operates Colorado Timing System.

  • Runners - Your job would be to collect the event cards from the timers and deliver them to the scorers.

  • Concession stand - The team may choose to set up a concession stand at home meets. If we are hosting a concession stand, we often recruit parents to supply the food items and drinks for the concession stand. That way, the team can benefit fully from any concessions purchased during the meet. Parents also staff the concession stand, so that becomes another volunteer opportunity. During the GNOAC Championship meet that we host, we will run a concession stand. Everyone should mark this day in his or her calendar in order to be able help. (We do not host GNOAC Championship in 2021)

Parents often volunteer to lead other initiatives that support the team, such as organizing a t-shirt order; identifying the theme for the Champs parade; arranging team pictures; etc.

If you wish to sign up (and also have the best place in the house) please contact any coach.
