Recommended restaurants

Restoule:  Buck's Lodge - good unpretentious food at reasonable prices, but phone to check they are open (705 729 5555)

Port Loring:  many have recommended Jake's (705 757-2012.) and also Roxie's (705-757-4141), but we haven't tried them yet.  Port Shores is worth a visit. 

Callander:    1886 Lake House Bistro is our current favourite.  Not cheap, but excellent food and lovely location near the lake.  

North Bay:  Churchill's - excellent food, but expensive.   Claims to be among the top 50 restaurants in Canada.  The bar is cheaper than the restaurant, the food still excellent (705 476 7777);  

BW (formerly Burger World!) good cheap restaurant for families (705 497 9755)

 South River: Antonio's Grill: good inexpensive family restaurant, great for pizzas (705 386 2002); Sherri's truck stop (just beyond Antonio's, next to the beer store) has the best poutine - go for bacon and onions option.
