Movies

I'm a movie buff. According to me, world cinema is much more than an art form. It is the most powerful tool for portraying individuals, our society and the world as a whole. As opposed to commercial Hindi movies (I absolutely despise them), I prefer flicks that leave a lasting impression on our memory and persuade us to view the world in an insightful manner. Especially, I would like to mention the works of Akira Kurosawa, Francis Ford Coppola, Stanley Kubrick, Sidney Lumet, Roman Polanski, Martin Scorsese, Wes Anderson, David Lynch, Coen brothers, Satyajit Ray, and Anurag Kashyap. I am also very much fond of anime and animation films. I would like to particularly mention the works of Hayao Miyazaki (of the famed Studio Ghibli) and Satoshi Kon for a taste of the wonderful world of Japanese anime culture. I am most entertained by Black Comedy and Film Noir movies.
