Paint

I decided that this was a good point to take care of some of the more detailed painting, before final assembly.

The first thing I did on the wings was to add the metal highlights on the top of the wings, which were done in green zinc chromate paint. The undersides of the wings have panels painted in insignia red. Some light ghost gray highlights were added to give it some detail.

On the weapons assemblies, I painted the phaser cannons in gunmetal gray, with some rush and green zinc chromate highlights. After painting the weapons assemblies, I glued them to the wing assemblies.

On the hull, the landing bay was painted in flat white, green zinc chromate, and sac bomber green. The rest of the hull was given details in green zinc chromate, like the wings had been given. There are also highlights and accents in insignia red around the photon torpedo emitter and on the tail, as well as some accents of rust.

Finally, the warp drive housing was painted in clear red and turn signal amber, with flat white accents.
