Pixel Art

Pixel art is how game sprites used to be made back in the day before we had all of this fancy 3D nonsense (it's still used in various 2D games today, though sometimes it's not quite as "pixel-y" as it used to be). I grew up with 8-bit and 16-bit sprites, and as time goes by I find myself somehow cherishing those beloved 16x24-pixel sprites more and more.

I haven't actually made any "significant" pixel art works yet (though one is in the works!). For now, I've done a small smattering of sprite work for games (mostly my own). You can see a sampling of my work below.

Pixel art is also featured in the album covers of my music releases, which you can see on my Bandcamp page.

Real-Life Pixel Art

In February of 2011, my dorm hosted a mural project where we were each supposed to paint our own interpretation of a cloud, so I took the opportunity to do some physical pixel art! It was really tricky to do without the possibility of undo or erase, but I ended up being really happy with the end result!
