Short Bio:
Diego Borro is (since 2003) a research staff member of CEIT and (since 2004) Associate Professor (Profesor Titular) at TECNUN, the Technological Campus of the University of Navarra in San Sebastian, Spain. He received his MS in Computer Science from the University of Basque Country (2000) and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Navarra (2003). He was visiting scholar (2004) at Integrated Media Systems Center (IMSC) at University of Southern California (USC). His main research areas include computer vision and augmented reality. Actually, he is the head of the Vision and Robotics Group. This group has researchers and Ph. D. candidates working in research projects for the industry in technologies as quality control and metrology using artificial vision, virtual and augmented reality, mechatronic designs for automated production lines and robotics.
He has participated in 42 research projects (28 as Director), has already supervised 12 doctoral thesis, and he is author or co-author of about 31 papers in international journals and roughly 65 articles in international conferences. He is Member of IEEE, ACM and Eurographics societies. |
