William H. Wise was born August 24, 1811 in North Carolina. William married Elizabeth Weaver on January 3, 1833 in Gallatin County, Illinois. Elizabeth was born October 5, 1814 in Tennessee. William and Elizabeth had the following children:

Nancy E. (Wise) Day
Hannis Joseph Wise
John W. Wise
In 1850 William and Elizabeth lived in Saline County, Illinois with property valued at $300.
Gallatin County, Illinois was split into multiple counties in 1847. This split included the formation of Saline County.
William, Elizabeth and family came to Kansas in June 1857 settling on south Deer Creek in Allen County.
Kansas Territory was organized and the area was opened to settlement by the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854. The state of Kansas was admitted to the Union in 1861.
William and Elizabeth purchased the NE 1/4 of Section 32 T23S R19E in 1863 and the NW 1/4 of Section 33 T23S R19E in 1865. They lived on this farm a mile south of Colony until William died.
William and Elizabeth were members of the Pleasant Valley church.
William died May 13, 1891 in Deer Creek, Kansas at the age of 79. Elizabeth died September 3, 1901 in Deer Creek. She was 86. William and Elizabeth are buried in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Allen County, Kansas.
