Tennes, Johanna and Tobias emigrated from Norway in the early 1850s (est.) settling in Winneconne, Wisconsin. Amelia and Emily were born in Wisconsin.
Johanna and her children, Tobias and Amelia, migrated to Kansas in 1873. Tennes was apparently deceased by this time.
Tobias homesteaded 165 acres of land along the Rooks and Osborne County line in 1876.
Tennes died between 1860 and 1873 (est.). His grave is unknown. Johanna died on July 23, 1897 at age 83. Johanna is buried in Conger Cemetery, Rooks County, Kansas.
