Organic Books

I have written a textbook called Organic Chemistry: An Introduction Emphasizing Biological Connections, now in its third edition. It is the only book written as a full-year organic course for first-semester freshmen. Fuller description here. It is available either as an ebook or a paperback (in two parts due to page limitations) from the Kindle store.

The Answer Book for this text is also available on Kindle. Note: The answer book has answers to all of the questions. If you want your students to have questions that do not have answers provided, you should tell them not to buy this book! (And good luck with that.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VB5H4N8

A subset of this book, containing CH 1-16 plus CH 23 (skipping carbonyl chemistry and amines) is available as a "High School Edition." https://www.amazon.com/dp/1082194409

Another subset of the original book is Preparation for Organic Chemistry. This is designed for students in a more traditional curriculum, with one year of general chemistry followed by one year of organic. Many of the students heading into organic are petrified and are looking for something to give them an advantage once they get there. This is that book. It takes the material that is normally reviewed in the first chapter or two of a standard organic book and expands it into 9 chapters, 250 pages worth of text and problems, set in an organic context. Students who read this before taking organic will be well served. This is also available as an ebook or paperback from the Kindle Store. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MRFGHBK
