Chemical Reactions Example

Chemical Reactions II Laboratory

Students are working in groups to run a series of chemical reactions. In the second part of the experiment, they run six combinations of double displacement (replacement) reactions. They observe on mixing the two chemicals if a solid or cloudy solution forms. If yes, one of the compounds produced is insoluble. On getting results, each group types their results into a GDoc that has been shared to each group in the lab.

Remember for items in Google Drive, use File > Make a copy... to obtain a copy of the file to use or modify.

The laboratory experiment is given above, and part II is the collaborative part. Out of class, each group does a collaborative report as given above. This activity has the instructor setting up groups and sharing with the students in the groups (instructions on opening page).

Given below is the shared GDoc students filled in and they will need to complete the report. We also set up lab group email addresses in gmail to give the student groups some anonymity, which makes chat seem to work better.
